WHAT DO
YOUNG PEOPLE FEEL ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE?

Global campaign feat UNEP, UNESCO, UNICEF, UNITED NATIONS, NAAEE 30 UNDER 30 & One Planet Podcast

The youth can slow down Climate Change, but let's talk about their feelings first! Through this video series, UNESCO MGIEP brought young voices from across the world who, through their journey, highlighted the gap that exists in understanding the correlation between Climate Change and emotions and why it should be the need of the hour for teachers, students, and schools to be active stakeholders in Climate Education. This campaign also marked the official launch of the institute's free certificate course: Climate Change: Understand. Reflect. Empathize. Act. and generated 500,000+ Organic Video Views

events

A synopsis of key annual events of UNESCO MGIEP.

In May 2018, approximately 50 youths from 11 countries came together for three days for the #YouthWagingPeace and #YesPeace workshops. The three days culminated in the launch of UNESCO MGIEP's Action Guidelines for the Prevention of Violent Extremism and the announcement of the International Youth Campaign on Kindness towards the SDGs.

On October 24 and 25, 2020, UNESCO MGIEP and global partners hosted the 2nd World Youth Conference on Kindness centered on the theme Kindness for Peaceful and Sustainable Co-existence to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the UN and to re-affirm the central role of empathy, compassion, and kindness to achieve the SDGs.

TAGe (Talking Across Generations on Education) is an honest virtual dialogue of select youth in conversation with policy and decision-makers on defining the problems with current education systems, sharing their hopes for future education systems, and reimagining education to build more peaceful and sustainable societies.

Held in December last year, TECH 2020 (Transforming Education for Humanity Conference) brought to the fore the integral facet of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and Digital Learning that have acquired a renewed relevance and urgency in the face of the COVID-19 crisis.
